Kannawidan, preserve the culture

As we hit February, we are greeted with many festivals in Ilocos Sur, mainly Kannawidan. Kannawidan generally is celebrated around February, and this festival means a lot to the Biguenos and all of Ilocos Sur. This festival is filled with festive activities like food courts, an art gallery, a bonsai competition, etc.

Kannawidan Ilocos is a massive festival with a lot to offer, and wherein there are shows, many things to buy, and an occasional carnival. But, unfortunately, in around Covid-19 Stuck, a pandemic, Festivals, establishments, and schools were shut down, including Kannawidan. But now, the 2022 Kannawidan started getting big, and many people are going to the festival. Because of this, Ilocos Sur implemented a no vaccination card, no entry to lessen the risk of spreading the virus.

Despite the pandemic, we still need to find a way to celebrate this festival, as it's our culture, and we need to essentially preserve and maintain it to keep the beauty of our beautiful province.
